1. Who is eligible to apply for a scholarship?

2. Who is ineligible for the scholarship?
• Members, their spouses, or other family members of the following:
• The Norman Family Foundation Board of Directors
3. How do I qualify for the scholarship?

4. What items are required to be submitted with the application?
• Proof of enrollment (evidence from an accredited institution that recipient has been or will be enrolled for the upcoming academic year)
• For high school and college students, a 500-word essay explaining why you are deserving of the scholarship, what your life goals are, and how this scholarship will help you achieve those goals
• School contact information
• Awards or other recognition
• For college students, 2 letters of recommendation
• If special needs, proof of disability
• Transcripts and other relevant academic records
5. What documents may be requested in the future?
The following are required at the completion of the school year for which the scholarship applies, but may also be required at other intervals at the discretion of the Norman Family Foundation’s Board of Directors:
• Proof of attendance
• Transcript or other academic evaluation
• Awards or recognition received during the scholarship period
6. Who will select the scholarship recipients?
• Scholarship recipients and the amount of each award will be determined by the Norman Family Foundation Board of Directors.
7. How many recipients will receive the scholarship per year?
• The number of recipients varies based on the number of applicants and the total funds available.
• Applications should be submitted as early in the submission window as possible because applications are considered in the order in which they were received.
• Incomplete or late applications may be disqualified.
8. What is the value of the scholarship award?
• Scholarship amounts will be awarded at the discretion of the Norman Family Foundation’s Board of Directors based on a variety of factors including eligibility type, level of financial need, and merit. Scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $5,000 per applicant.
9. When is the deadline to submit scholarship applications?
The scholarship application window opens on April 1st each year and closes on June 30th.
• Applications must be received in their entirety, with all supporting documentation, no later than June 30th.
• Applications should be submitted as early as possible in the submission window in order to avoid the exhaustion of the total funds available for scholarships. Applications are considered in the order in which they were received.
10. How and when will the recipient(s) be notified of scholarship award status?
• Recipients will be notified no later than August 15th via the e-mail address provided in their application.
11. How and when will the scholarship funds be distributed?
• Scholarship payments will be made directly to the educational institution on behalf of the award recipient and may be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies, or other equipment required for the applicant's courses of instruction.
12. What steps must be taken if the award recipient unenrolls from the qualifying
institution?
• The recipient must immediately notify NFF in writing at scholarships@normanff.org of any change in their enrollment status for the school year to which the scholarship award applies
• Scholarship funding may be withdrawn or required to be repaid if the recipient unenrolls and does not transfer to another accredited institution
Scholarship funding may also be withdrawn if the recipient becomes subject to academic probation.
